'Our English' Video Presentation Competition
The Competition's Inspiration and Guidelines
Vietnamese people have their own special way of communicating in English, influenced by their rich culture and language. That's why we wanted to celebrate Vietnamese English and showcase how Vietnamese people successfully use English for communication in diverse ways.
For the competition, participants were asked to record a video presentation, sharing their thoughts for 3 - 5 minutes on the following topic: "My favourite English word to describe my hometown/home country."
Participants were encouraged to be creative and to express themselves, being proud of their own way of using English. Some of the fantastic video entries can be found at the bottom of the page.
On January 27th, 2024, the award ceremony for the ‘Our English’ contest took place at the University of Foreign Languages and International Studies, Hue University.
